Can adults use Invisalign?

Can teenagers use Invisalign?
Teens can certainly be candidates for Invisalign. In fact, Invisalign has created a line of aligners to meet the unique needs of teenagers.
Invisalign Teen aligners have compliance indicators (small blue dots that fade away after they are worn for two full weeks) to help teens stay on track with their treatment.
They also come with eruption tabs that provide space for second molars and prevent them from growing in crooked.

Can I play my instrument with Invisalign?
Simply remove your aligners to practice playing your instrument, and place them back in when you're done.

Can I play sports with Invisalign?
Invisalign aligners are removable, so you can play sports without worrying about causing damage to your aligners.
However, keep in mind that Invisalign aligners are supposed to be kept in your mouth for a minimum of 22 hours a day, so you will need to plan your time carefully.
Since orthodontic treatment can cause teeth to loosen slightly as they shift into their new positions, they can be susceptible to damage. Therefore, you may also want to invest in a sports mouth guard to protect your teeth.

Your Invisalign aligners will come with a case, and this is where you should put them whenever you remove them from your mouth.

How does the Invisalign process work?
Invisalign's clear plastic aligners are designed to move your teeth in small increments throughout the duration of your treatment.
Each aligner in the series is worn for about two weeks before it is replaced with the next one in the series. This process will continue until your teeth are in their corrected positions.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?
Your unique needs will determine how long your Invisalign treatment lasts for.
Misalignment of the teeth or jaw, the shape of your bite, and the amount your teeth need to be moved will all affect the duration of your treatment.

How many sets of aligners will I need?
The answer to this question will depend on the severity of your misalignment.
Only your dentist can give you an accurate estimate of how long your treatment will take based on a careful evaluation of your bite during an initial consultation.

How often do I have to change my Invisalign aligners?
Most patients change to their next set of aligners every two weeks or so. Your dentist will tell you exactly how often you should switch out your aligners.

How often do I have to visit the dentist?
You will be provided with your prescribed series of aligners so that you can switch to a new set of aligners every two weeks. Since Invisalign aligners require no adjustments or tightening you will only need to schedule brief follow-up appointments every four to six weeks.
During these appointments, your dentist will take the opportunity to review your progress and general oral health, answer your questions and make adjustments to your treatment as required.

How will Invisalign fit my lifestyle?
Invisalign should fit very comfortably into your day-to-day life, while allowing you to maintain your oral care routine.
You can remove your aligners whenever you need to eat or brush and floss your teeth. Therefore, you will have minimal dietary restrictions associated with using Invisalign and can easily brush and floss your teeth.
